Shorts in Psychology
Australia
Приєднався 24 лис 2017
Hello and welcome to my channel, Shorts in Psychology! My name is Emma and I am a senior Psychology and Biology teacher in South Australia. I originally created this channel for my Year 12 Psychology students at the end of 2017 and it has grown from there!
My videos are designed as an instructional tool for the South Australian SACE Psychology course (Stage 1 and Stage 2). They have been created to complement my in-class teaching and to assist students' understanding and application of a variety of concepts contained within the Stage 1 and 2 Psychology course. In time, I hope to expand the channel further with Biology videos as well as others related to study skills and mindset.
If you wish to contact me personally with any questions, comments and requests email shortsinpsych@gmail.com

Hey, I don't want to be disrespectful, but your society has to think about your testing system... In some countries, we test the knowledge, not the skills to think as the person who made the test... I mean... just think about it...

Guilt vs Shame...... book/TV series Atlas Of The Heart differenciates between the two and defines them.... Shame hurts and often causes a withdrawl from others, while Guilt leads to being sorry, trying to fix situation, apologizing, changing behavior, etc.
well explained examples😇
Hi there! Great video :) I have a quick question: Let's say someone approaches a worm and unconsciously reacts in fear, creating what they perceive as an internal aversive stimuli that's then associated with the worm and as a result avoids worms in the future. Would that be considered a form of aversive punishment (possibly unconsciously self-imposed) because the approach behavior was lessened by the introduction of the aversive stimuli of fear? And if the person continued to react in fear whenever a worm was experienced, either physically or even just the mention of one, and thus continued to avoid them because of the fear, would that then be negative reinforcement because theyre avoiding the worm to take away to aversive stimuli? If you made it through those two long questions, I thank you! 😅
this was a great explanation of the theory, thank you
Thank you so much
can you cite a scenario where in biopsychosocial framework was illustrated?
Wow! Very well explained! In depth and quite easy to grasp as well! This was very insightful! Thank you so much for providing this video to all of us! I just learnt about the 3 ego states yesterday and I wanted to do some more research on this. Tremendous work! 🙏💛
Thanks so much, I appreciate the feedback and am glad you found the video so helpful 🙂
I 'm so happy. It understood 💕💕
watching this because of milesdown anki deck
Same lol
Do you have any worries that this deck is not the best for psch/soc? I sort of feel like it might be lacking, but I don't really have a background in psch/soc to know for sure. Or the MCAT experience to know either lol. I suppose we'll find out once we start taking AAMC FLs.
@@codyellsworth7927 so far I've done the khan academy videos for psych soc and this covers most of it, it does get into some ideas that aren't in khan academy; i've taken 1 FL test and there are theory questions, so I think its helpful at least in that regard. I don't think MCAT tests specifically names and stuff tho
@@kunaiwithchain5278 Nice! That's good to know. Good luck to you. We got dis
@@codyellsworth7927 yeah from what I've seen, its better to understand and be able to identify the ideas, rather than being able to regurgitate the theory name. Examples are way more important
Thank you so much!

Hi, very very clear explained. Thank you!. At the end, you mentioned about chronic pain and implenting the model. Do you have a suggestion for good article(s) about the model in chronic pain patients?
I would start with this one: pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/17592957/ 🙂
